Anyone using the transverter solution from Rene, PE1CMO?

HB9RYZ - That's great! Looking at your diagram, it looks like you're feeding one of the Bodnar ports to the 9700. My understanding was that this input is only for calibration and will not affect the stability of the rig. Have I been misinformed?
I'm not aware of that that. So I have to study the IC-9700 manual a littl ebit more

Yep, unfortunately it's true. I couldn't believe my ears when somebody told me.

G4NRT is correct. REF in at the IC9700 is only for calibration procedure (which has to be triggered manually. Page 13-3 of the manual.
You are right - so I can disconnect the SMA cable to the GPSDO. Thanks.

Good Morning
I'm very happy with the transverter from PE1CMO.
The TX-Path (UP-Link) with the Patch-Antenna from PA3FYM is working excellent and the next step is to optimize the RX-Path (DOWN-Link) with the special 5V DC LNB from PE1CMO.
The goal is to get the most out of my Technisat 85cm dish to finally use my new IC-9700 Transceiver in the full-duplex SAT-Mode without any SDR receivers or WebSDR. The WebSDR is a very good monitor as a reference.
What I recognized was the interference on the 10m band due to the power supplies provided with the transverter. So I had to modify the power supplies (see the picture and the diagram).

Wolfgang - hand wound chokes or some commercial products?

Hi Dietmar, these are hand wound chokes.

Hi All
Finally I've got from Rene (PE1CMO) another LNB and now the complete setup is working in Full-Duplex Mode with the new IC-9700.
UP-Link on 70cm (431.740 MHz) --> 10'489'740 MHz on the transponder
DOWN-Link on 2m (144.740 MHz) --> 10'489'740 MHz on the transponder
Incl. Scope-View on the IC-9700. I'm now independent of the WebSDR and able to use the IC-9700 with the ICOM Remote Software RS-BA1on my notebook with headset from anywhere.
At the moment I'm using two dishes and finally I will go for one dish after I cut off the horn of the LNB and merged it with the Patch-Antenna from PA3FYM.
And the 2-Port GPSDO from Leo Bodnar is working fine with 10 MHz and 24mA drive and is the key for the whole setup!
Thanks Rene for the excellent Transverter and your support

I have been forced (by local council regulations) to change my plans for my home QTH which means that a station at G4NRT is no longer viable.
I bought almost the same equipment as Wolfgang from Rene. It has to be sold! It is:
70cm Transverter
12v & 30v Power Supplies
PE1CMO modified LNB
PY3FYM dual band feed.
It will all go (in one lot) at cost price. Please email me (email on QRZ) if you're interested.

PA3FYM - The issue is that I have a fifty foot chalk cliff right behind my house. (here is what my neighbours did with it: "Stairway to Heaven").
In order to 'see' Es'hail2, I need to elevate a dish (1m, offset) at least 3m (better yet 4m) above the roof of the house. When I was having the survey done, one of my neighbours (not the one in the article) said that were worried about the danger of the dish falling and hurting somebody.
They 'kindly' called the local council who sent a planning enforcement officer round to tell me that I was not allowed to have any structure above the roof line of the house. I cannot put it on the top of the cliff because I have no access to it so the whole G4NRT plan has had to be shelved!
I am still installing a simpler (and much cheaper) system in Harare so Z21NRT should be QRV but G4NRT will have to wait until such time as I move houses! -
David,
How do you, and/or the neighbour who raised the issue, 'see' satellite TV ? I would have thought that the challenges for that would be almost identical. Whatever solution has been deployed for that may give you precedent.
Also, get a second opinion re the planning regulations. It wouldn't be the first time that an enforcement officer got it wrong!

Can't you get friendly with the Stairway to Heaven people and ask if you could use their structure to gain access to the clifftop?

@G6AYC Thanks for the suggestion. Believe me, I have looked at all ways to sort the issue.
If I put it on their 'structure' (and I haven't had any issue with them allowing me to use it to attach my OCFD etc. to the trees) it would need to be at least 20m high to 'see' over the trees on top of the cliffs all the way along. It would then give me a cabling headache. If you could see on a map the direction that I need then you will see that it cannot work - in fact is is worse! If anything, getting further away at the front would be an advantage.
I don't want to hijack this thread with my site problems so I will consider the matter closed - unless someone is interested in buying my PE1CMO setup.
