With a linearly polarized (WIFI)antenna you need 3db more TX-power as with a RHCP helix (LHCP as dish feeder).
A 80cms dish with 4turn helical feed has about 10dB more gain than that grid antenna.
I have the same here and compared the two antennas.
And on the pic from wimo the front reflector is wrong mounted
Correct assembled and with enough TX power it is usable.

I use this Grid antenna with great success. Of course you loose 3dB because of the linear polarisation - but the 10dB difference between the WLAN-Anetnna and a circular polarised 80cm dish seems to be a little bit pessimistic - with my 4 W on the antenna I have 30dB S/N.

I just tested one of these (cheaper 50 Euro version from the web) against my 80cm dish and it is almost perfectly one S-unit down as expected by calculations.

Hi, one S-unit are 6 dB. Can you try measure with SDR and look for SNR by the same bandwith?
6 dB means you need 4 times more TX power to get the same RX level?
And, what was the expected calculated level?

my dish has a calculated gain of 26dBic. The WiFi antenna is specified with 24dBi linear, so it would be equivalent to 21dBic. So calculated difference should be 5dB, measured difference is 6dB.

First QSOs with about 500mW at the feed - mainly in CW with about 8-10 dB S/N
And yes, the WIMO Picture is wrong - the feed must be 90° rotated

I am using it too. The pattern seems to be clear. I have pointed it very accurate with a SDR receiver.
With 2W seems to be good enough for CW. For SSB is usable but I miss some decibels to be pretty good readable.
I am afraid also that the patch cable is RG-213 type, so the lossy one.
If somebody would like to be strongh enough for SSB, needs around 8-10W with this type of antenna or try other one.
