Friedrichshafen QO-100 OM's meeting?

Morning all,

Wondering if there might be any interest in an informal meeting at Friedrichshafen of OM's that are active on the satellite? Maybe Saturday 22nd June would be usable? Always nice to put a callsign to a face !

Yes! Great idea! I shall be there along with my friend and fellow satellite enthusiast Rupert G0TKZ. We will be there on Friday and Saturday.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn and you will see my Discovery Sport in the car park which has my callsign as the registration plate!

We will be happy to meet you also at the AMSAT-DL & QARS booth, Both stands are next to each other and we are planing live QSO and DATV demonstration under DL50AMSAT special callsign...

DB2OS You should announce a time for the user meeting.. e.g. 14:00 local time at the booth. Then all users can meet together..

14:00 local time would be difficult because of the following lectures on Saturday.

So perhaps directly after Achim's talk, maybe the room is free after this..

Will the lectures be "broadcasted" live via the video transponder ?

Would be a nice feature for all OMs who can not attend the sessions in person.

We have not finished all plannings yet, depending on local conditions we might have to record first and playback later.. but let's see...

Are the lectures by Peter and Achim in German? May be a bit of a challenge for those of use who only speak "speisekarte Deutsch!" Nonetheless, I will attend both talks and stay behind afterwards for the meet up!

By the time of the meeting I will have also have probably become the only amateur in Zimbabwe to operate QO-100. I shall have just returned from setting up my second QO-100 station at my QTH in Harare.

G4NRT I am planning my talk to be held in english. As it will be more technical, I believe even OMs which are non fluent in english can follow. And after all, HAMRADIO is very international.

Good idea - I will try to be there - depends if i will get vacation in that time periode. If yes, i will be qrv via oscar-100 from the camping place out of the motor-caravan.

Hi all,

For a meeting time, how about 1700Z on the Saturday just after Achim's talk ? We could migrate to the pub / bar if the weather is nice.
