there are two OMs in our region who own an IC-7100 and want to use it for QO-100 operation.
Is there anybody who did that already and can help with information how to setup the IC7100 ?

For TX or RX? It is not a full-duplex radio.
Do you refer to the receiver ICR7100 or the Transceiver IC-7100 ?
Hello Kurt,
I am using the IC-7100 for Tx. After a modification for ALC (see Youtube) long time ago modulation is great.
On 70cm i go into a SG-Lab transverter and have always good reports.
For Tx IC-7100 is a good choice.
For Rx i use an unmodified cheap LNB (2,45€) by using SDR-Console on a NUC with a POTY.
I also use the IC7100 for TX, RX is via SDR.
Anyway a strongly suggest to avoid ICR7000 and ICR7100. Too much noise, no PBT and NR.
I don't know IC7100 RTX but surely is better.

I have an IC-R7000 for listening to the other satellites. But you are right, this RX is deaf so I have installed 2 preamps. One at the antenna and a broadband preamp near the RX. It works since many years this way.
thanks a lot for the answers. Ok, I understand that the 7100 is not full duplex, so a separate receiver is required. I will recommend to the two OMs to buy an RTL stick for reception.
