When you are updating from WIN7 to WIN10 for free on the Microsoft page all runs smooth. The only think I found is, that the RTL driver for the SDR-console or SDR# changed. Using the program Zadig from the SDR# package will correct that. Select all devices and look for your RTL dongle. Then install the driver for that device and then SDR# and SDR-console will work same like under WIN7. Hope this hint helps you when you do the update.
I thought the free updates had gone? But I stand corrected as i see there is still a way to do it. I doubt my old 2009 machine would survive such a transition, unless someone with a dell Optiplex 780 can tell me different.
Thanks for the reminder Heiner.
All went well here with the upgrade from wim7 to win10. The only problem is that all the programs must be instalated from the beginning and that will keep me busy for some time. The positive is that I don’t need a new computer for some time.
