Funcube groundstation at Antarctica, with the AMSAT-DL QO-100 station?

  • We can read this: "In addition, a receiving station for the FunCube satellite will be set up, which will be provided by the AMSAT-UK team and will later use the QO100 station to transmit telemetry in real time via the NB transponder."

Are there any more info about this? Is it connected to the the "Ethernet bridge (Ethernet over DVB)" unit? If I remember well, it was a discussion about this topic on the forum around summer in previous year, in title: IP over DVB-S2

We (around the Smog-P and ATL-1 pq-sats) are very interested about this.

  • Hi Janos,

the plan is to use the same 1200 Bit/s BPSK modulation and format from FunCube also for the FunCube Relay on the QO-100 NB downlink. Unfortunately due to several reasons (logistical and technical) this plan had to be changed and delayed until next year...

  • Peter,

thank you for the updated information. We will try to follow the story of this developments.

It would be really usefull a cubesat ground station on the Antarktis, with a QO-100 relay.
