"QO-100" on Wikipedia

  • Hi Everyone!

If I search Wikipedia for "QO-100" it suggests "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_radio_satellite" or "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMSAT" and there is actually an "Es'hail 2" page at "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es%27hail_2"

Can or would somebody forward "QO-100" to "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es%27hail_2" on Wikipedia.... (I don't know how to do it :()

Being just a little bit pedantic, do I understand correctly that Es'hail 2 is the satellite whereas QO-100 is the actual transponder ?? ;)

    Hi David,

QO-100 stands for Qatar-OSCAR-100 and is the typical short nomenclature for our amateur radio satellites or our transponder payload.

The satellite name "Es'hail-2" is by it's creator the company Es'hailSat.

Like UO-11 was UoSAT-OSCAR-11 or UoSAT-2 by the University of Surrey.

BTW: We called QO-100 (mainly during the design and building phase) also "P4-A" because according to the AMSAT Phases it's the first geostationary Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio.

Changed the title of the thread from “On Wikipedia, would somebody please forward "QO-100" to the "Es'hail 2" page ?” to “"QO-100" on Wikipedia”.
  • Thank you for that :) D
