2.4 GHz is not DC, you can't solder two cables together!!!!

You have to use the appropriate connectors for your Ultraflex 7 cable, SMA and N for the Helix.

beware of these far east pigtails. I used one to and swr was really bad. Swapped it to jumper i got from cellular phone base station. Swr perfect. Would suggest you download last version of the gs manual and look at the cable chart

that isn't a problem of the pigtail, it is a problem of the solder connection of two cables. even a N-type right-angled plug-jack adaptor isn't ideal:

Hello together,

i see a serious mistake in picture #1. The copper flag represents a capacitor and must not touch the helix! It is like a short circuit, that is not correct. Recalibrating without measurement option should be difficult.

The soldered cable is definitely not working 13cm RF.

I don´t think that this are mistakes.

The original from dx patrol looks like picture #1 and works.

Try first to use correct cable and connections.

your order is ok. Wilhelm is right, the flap is a capacitor and must not touch the helix. Try to bend it back to the original position.

see the right picture, that is what i mean.

"Next I started to examine the antenna, I noticed that inside the flap was not making contact with the coil, looking at pics from dx patrol manual I saw their one was, so I bent the flap so that it makes contact but still high swr."

the right pic is a original pic from CT1FFU (dx patrol), not from EI2EJB !?!

I suppose dxpatrol adjusts the capacitor for best swr
