Hello today my friend Adam 9A4QV has reported me a very interesting software his name is SDRAngelsat. The software in question has a new plug-in for decoding the DVB-S2 provided for the P4A. I must say that after installing it, it immediately struck me. I hope I have done something pleasing to those who want to receive the DVB-S2 without other hardware pieces to be built bye.

it works...

i have made a test in March2018...with DVB-S Satellite reception

but NOTE to get the maximum sensitivity of receiver you need the LDPC decoder this was not impemented in March 2018... more Info about progess maybe here

We have an open source implementation of LDPC decode for DVB-S2/X for GNU Radio now. This is in addition to the GPU version from Charles Brain.

Here is the latest LDPC soft decision work that we've supported on Phase 4 Ground. The various algorithms are described in the README.

Here is the current out of tree module that implements the LDPC soft decision decoder.

Next step is a version for FPGA!

Eh Eh you are a magician my friend compliments for your work who knows if everything can be implemented through precompiled binary codes for a wider audience. In any case I solved with a virtualization machine under 64-bit windows. Thanks 73.

Yes, we are striving to have binaries for people to use.

LDPC is hard but the performance is worth it. Our goal on Phase 4 Ground is to have DVB-S2/X fully open source implementations for hams to use in space and terrestrial radio systems. After a lot of work, we are starting to get there!

Hi Michelle, thank you for the work you are doing. My activity is concentrated for the EME on 10 Ghz, but I do not hide that the new satellite teases me to do this hi 73 'Gennaro.

I imagine the complexity of the LDPC code. A system born many years ago but today is finding a new starting point for DVB compliments again for your work.

On chart is very interesting, but yesterday night I have been tried to install in Windows 10. It't too much complex for windows environment, you need to do some steps, but it isn't a dummy proof installation ! Seems more easier using a linux distro, in fact theres more and punctual instruction for the installation. In windows it's very hard. Tryed to search treads with more simple instruction. Total failure.

If some one has more simple instruction are welcome !

I have looked at SDRangel before but it wasn't possible to install it on my machine, the CPU is too old and lacks some modern instructions that this program requires.

So it is worth to check that before you spend a lot of effort!

We are making lots of progress and having a great time! If anyone is in the US for HamCation (Florida) then visit us in the expo. We're next to TAPR and the Amateur Radio Astronomy Group. We are hosting a forum and have plenty of fun things planned.

We are very proud to have you now also as a member of AMSAT-DL and we are looking looking forward to work more closer together. hi there, i hear no audio on DATV by sdrangel, is that correct?..further is sdrangel working perfect! The only amateur full software for sdr transmitters and receivers 👍👍

Now i am waiting for DVB-S2. Good luck.
