10489 H cw beacon
NB Transponder ON 10489V and CW Beacon
we begin to take measurements.
My center band corresponds to the end of the NB transponder.
A correction of 125 kHz should be applied.
I believe I was seeing ~ +5dB above my noise floor across what we believe to be the P4A transponder frequency. Dish needs a further re-alignment after the recent winds and other matters, and the LNB skew needs perfecting as well. Certainly something there though, and it was 250kHz wide
Good news today. To compare signals, few days ago i actived the websdr connected to ES'Hail2 SAT from my station on Sardinia with 100cm parabolic dish

Hallo...
and GM...
NB transponder is on again...
12-15dB NOISE with RTL-SDR (SDR#) and with GQRX (Airspy Mini)
Dish: TDA88, OCTAGON OTSLO internal TCXO LNB

10 db over noise with OCTAGON TWIN / Nooelec/60cm Dish in jn49vl
Great to see it works
Confirming reception of transponder noise floor here in G-Land - A Nice thing to wake up to. Like yesterday, I see teh transponder ~5db above my noise floor, V pol, 1.1M dish, BW of 10MHz from the USRP N200, but as I said yesterday, there is some re-alignment of both LNB and dish (actually I'll move the LNB, it's easier [Aricebo Inspired!] - I have it on a multi LNB arm) required due to the winds and other matters.
Does bring to mind a few alternative sayings though "Rotate [LNB|Dish] for maximum smoke!"
On my 80cm dish with unmodified SR-3602 LNB and SDRplay RSP1a I have the transponder noise at least 12dB above the noise floor, so I think you will have some performance to gain there...
Hi...
i have moved the polarisation by about 30degrees on the LNB ... so i can see the activity on both transponders.

Well I don't think it is that nice to hear pirates and stations that do not comply to requests of the team.
Yesterday it was claimed that this signal is not from the AMSAT-DL team.
I talked with QARS and also with my contact at the CRA Spectrum Management Department of Qatar.
They are not aware of the origin of this mysterious CW signal.
Most likely it is MELCO continuing profiling the transponder performance before handing it over to Es' hailSat. Otherwise hopefully not a Pirate.
We are usually not informed what kind of tests they are performing during IOT, but we requested feedback if the CW is intentionally or not.
At the same time we assured them that we constantly tell people not to transmit on the uplink.

had the chance to fine tune my dish today, nice and strong signal here in JN97ML!
my OpenWebRX stream is up and online again: http://sniffing.ddns.net:8073/
