Hallo Thomas,

Viel Spass!!!!

Sounds good! Was just wondering. Thanks!

Why do people always think that every single radio useful for satellites has to be full duplex?
Where is this misconception coming from?
Yes, it is helpful to have everything in one radio but not necessary at all. There is nothing wrong using two radios (RX, TX, RX/TX) for satellite ops. So many folks do this every day!

Any new updates on these patches? Availability? Any shirts available with the logo?

Thanks Peter,
unfortunately, the webinterface requires the TX data from the downconverter to be send to the RX pin of the PIC for both, the upconverter data and the downconverter data to be shown. I just used the RX pin of the PIC directly (which was a pain in the $%#$@ to solder) and got it going. Would be nice to have that pin accessible in the next version. Thanks again, Stefan

Hi Thomas,
while IARU frequency coordination for amateur radio satellites is highly desirable and beneficial it is not mandatory.

Trying to build the web-interface for the AMSAT-DL up and down converter (AMSAT-DL Journal 3-2020). I need to find the contact (pin) to route the TX data of the downconverter to the RX port of the upconverter to have both serial data available for the web interface. According to the article, the revision 4.3 of the upconverter is supposed to have a separate pin for RX (it has one for TX). However, it looks like there is none, unless someone can point to it. It is not available at the 6pin connector where the TX pin is located. The only option appears to be connecting it directly to pin 15 of the PIC (18F2520) or the tiny resistor in front of it. Appreciate any thoughts.....
Thanks, Stefan VE4SW

https://wiki.amsat-dl.org/lib/…upconverter:diagramm1.png
https://wiki.amsat-dl.org/doku.php?id=de:upconverter:use
Need some help interpreting the power curve of the 6W PA (see link above). On entry (TrXin) a -25dBm attenuation is used to reduce input power. Was the curve measured with the -25dBm in consideration or not? In other words, if I have 30dBm (1W) at the entry (TRXin), with the -25dBm reduction it is actually +5dBm to be amplified and I need to look at the +5dBm value in the curve to determine the output power which would be +26dBm. Or to get 38 dBm out of the amp I need to drive it with 20dBm in +25dBm because of the entry attenuation meaning TRXin would be 45dBm (31W). That doesn't sound right.... Anyway, looking forward to your input.
Vielen Dank,
