The HD Line BP2 was the worst wobbling LNB i ever had in my hands.
Total trash.
Link > Receiving system not based on Octagon LNB
Maybe the wobbling on this LNB is caused by using only one xtal for 2 mixer/PLL ICs?

oe7dbh: could it be possible to remove the "weak" output BPF on the older models (like mine here) to increase output power?
After my final PA i use a good interdigital filter so maybe this BPF is not needed anymore?

@MarKro: just playing around with the settings to get better decoding
Just received a rather seldom Transmission with unusual SR 166ks and H.265 from PE2JKO.
here is a mod on another LNB with a similar RDA IC (with ES suffix)
Well, a Picture says more than 1000 words
It's a RDA3565S PLL/Mixer IC inside.

IU2KAC :
click on the faint line in the waterfall to center the signal.
increase loop gain to about 2 and decrease loop damping to ca 0.002
also short disable and enabling of the carrier recovery checkbox could help
@Markro: working good but one Thing is still annoying (not on every Signal!):
If i tune to some Signals (with carrier recovery enabled) i can't get the 4-Dot constellation, only the "ring".
After disabling and enabling the carrier recovery instantly the correct IQ constellation appears.
And maybe the brightness of the waterfall could be adjusted separately from the BB gain ?
Here the Decoding is best when the Signal is dark blue and because of that barely visible.
Keep up the good work

Mein Tip: Opticum AX Black Buster Twin
Spielt neben den "alten" Octagons hier am besten

@IK1HGI: I don't think we are talking about the same thing.
I mean a scanning function which looks on predefined frequencies on the WBTP with the "usual" SRs and if a signal is found then automatic lock an decoding it.
Looks like:
tune to 10.4955 and look if there is a signal with 1Ms if yes > decode
if no> tune to 10.49475 and look if there is a sig with 500Ks if yes > decode
if no> tune to 10.49525 and look if there is a sig with 500Ks if yes > decode
and so on...
Maybe i got you wrong but lets wait what MarKro says.

@SWL-MarKro:
Maybe another nice feature would be a programmable scan function?
So you can set some frequencies (maybe in a .cfg file) with SR and your SW could scan this frequencies and if it finds a Signal within a defined time (maybe 5sec) then it locks to it and VLC starts playing.
Just a idea..

Try 9.749,95MHz downconverter freq and zoom out the lower window.
You have zoomed in to about 4kHz, which is way to less.
Also important is that you set the double Digit on the GHz Position > 99GHz in Settings
and then adjust your rx freq up to 10.489,675MHz.
Normally then you should see the PSK beacon in the lower window.

Just repaired my "small" Andrew MRF21045 PA which quits working after the first few minutes on QO100 on 12.02.19
A broken SMD resistor on the gate was the cause of the failure.
Now its a little bit improved by 1dB and delivers about 15W when excited with the 500mW from the BU500.

The signal is not centered (do you see the small faint line just a little bit on the right? thats the centerfrequency!)
and your SR is not on 2000 (look on the number below the waterfall!) and decrease BB gain a little bit and enable LCDP DEC.
It is always good to check what SR you have set> a slight adjustment on ANY setting could get you far away from the right SR. ALWAYS look to the number below the waterfall!
you are close to successful decoding..
My friend from PA, that signal was exactly centered to the overpowered station and that was no coincidence.
Finally time for Leila...
Sad but some OMs are way stronger than the beacon and so other OMs think they have to play Leila themselves.

That is not the WB transponder noise floor, THAT is the AMSAT Beacon signal.
And the strenght looks ok for decoding
& "errorterm" mueller & müller
And this Signal seems not to be 2MHz wide if you have BW 3M2 actually set…
