Works
Octagon with RDA and 27MHz gives a clear and strong signal on 27MHz receiver.
-
Maybe we can find some more LNBs with RDA 27MHz PLLs
-
It would be interesting what PLL IC is used in a LNB WITHOUT opening it.
So you can check (without buy!) LNBs at your electronic Dealers store
if they are with RDA356x (27MHz xtals) or not.
Could be done "Stealth" with a small battery and a simple Receiver scanning 25&27MHz.
If Nothing found on 25 or 27MHz > DRO
If 25MHz: TTF101x or RT320M..
IF 27MHz: RDA356x
Just a thought…

Just removed the GM201 and reinstalled the Octagon, now the "wobbling" is gone
-
Will a change from Xtal to a TCXO stop that "wobbling"?
.. don't think so

OK here it is the TFF1017 PLL in the LNB.
If the weather is good enough tomorrow i will try an unmodified GM201 and report the differences to the octagon OTSLO

I took some Pictures

OK, the promo video on 10882MHz (LO 9360MHz with 24MHz xtal) is stable with quality 67% on my 130cms RX dish.
For that purpose the GM201 with changed xtal works ok.
Now it's time to take a closer look at the "wobbling" on the NB transponder.

I bought 4 of those cheap LNBs and modified one with a 24MHz crystal for LO shift to be able to receive the promo video on WB transponder with a normal receiver.
So far i can say that it wobbles much more than the Octagon OTSLO.
Could be caused by the cheap crystal or maybe the LNB is more sensitive for movements due to the strong winds here today. (the OTSLO wasn't wobbling!)
Also i have not tested it yet with the original xtal and so i can't say if it stays more stable with the original xtal.
Maybe tomorrow i will install a unmodified one and carry out some tests with that.

OK, so lets wait and see to what that leads..

Signal was a few seconds strong observed here, now it is minimal over the TP floor.
What are you planning with that linear transponder in your town?
Do you want to grant access to the sat to OMs in your area via VHF?

Does anyone know what causes the increased noise on ca 10.489,735?
First i thought it was caused here locally but on the WEBSDRs it is also present.

Hello OMs,
after some OMs asked me where to get UMTS amps for 2,4GHz use after modification i can recommend the eBay member "bisonelectronics-sp2jyr".
He sells sometimes old UMTS PAs for reasonable prices. I bought one of my amps there and after modification it runs good on 2,4GHz.
So if you are searching for a PA then maybe there you can find something suitable.

I got an email from UZ7HO in which he recommends BPQ32.
This should be compatible with Soundmodem and has the desired "converse" mode.
Later i will give it a try

As we have now carried out some successful QSOs via AX25 & EH2 we are searching for a software which supports "converse" mode for more than 2OMs in a QSO.
I tried Flexnet but it doesn't work with the nice UZ7HO soundmodem.
Paxon works too but also has no "converse" mode.
Does someone know a AX25 client software that supports "converse" and works with UZ7HO Soundmodem?
