Thanks for clarification : I was confused as we are in a DVB-GSE thread. It seems that you use an other modulation. As you are transmitting in local , you don't have the satellite delay.

Hi George,
Great to see your improvement, but can you explain in more details your tests...is it one way tx with ping acknowledge on local network or real full duplex ping ? A link schematic of the link could be helpfull.

On February 3, we have experiment DVB-GSE over QO-100 with Dany Ea4gpz and succeed in 2 way ip connection. My setup : plutosdr/minitiouner with custom software from encap/desencap GSE. Ea4gpz, gnu-radio for tx with gr-dvbse and rust dvb-gse for desencap. We need to work on latency but a very good step forward.

SV1BDS Hi, does your firmware support connection from GNURADIO when Tx is not operational?
You can use like a normal SDR (and from gnuradio) when you select passthrough mode on the firmware.

Maybe my RF splitter has issue at 2.4Ghz...
Is it possible to provide the .grc to see blocks more clearly ?

I confirm that ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 is not in the linux driver that standard firmware support (USB 2 version is).
Next firmware I will add most of usb ethernet drivers in order to avoid this kind of issue.

Easier way of updating a firmware is using the web page http://pluto.local/pluto.php : upload a new firmware or patch.
Choose your pluto.frm file then press button upload...that's it. It works over usb and over ethernet and you will not have the size issue.

What do you mean by compromised ? Not working at all ? Which Sdr software for reception ?

Upgrade from 0.31 to 0.32 official analog device firmware is not necessary when you flash the datv firmware !

Official page list which hardware drivers are supported by Pluto. However as datv firmware is a custom kernel, I could add other drivers..just need to know which to add ! Some extra wifi like TP_LINK are already added.
Laurent, I could help you by teamviewer because your issue is not trivial , write me a mail?

Just be patient..there is already a proof of concept. Now packaging it in a new firmware for plutosdr.
You need :
- PLutoSDR
- HDMI input : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/WR-USB…Audio-Record/184364880346
- If you want analog in , add Analog to HDMI : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/AV-to-…ter-HDTV-DVD/274349165620
- Future DATV plutosdr firmware
That's it : all in one encoder - DVBS/S2 modulator less than 200 Euros.
More details soon.

Excellent news Roberto. Seems to work !
About embeded encoder : I have a proof of concept using a 10 Euros usb dongle HDMI input . I can encode mpeg-2 at SD (720x576) abd even H264 SD (with worst encoding quality). It could be helpfull to portable as no PC is required.
About x265, I could add it , but doubt that PLuto could do more than CIF (352x288)...I could add it if any interest.
About udp and tcp port...Yes we can add parameter for that (but need to add it on web interface and fw_setenv). Furthermore, right now, udp and rtmp are running in pararalel. We could optimize that with an other parameter which set the mode we wan,t to run.

Issues seems fixed now...I added a gateway for USB connection thus I just had to share the connection on windows, no needed anymore to ssh in pluto. Available on alpha repository.
-
Very interesting...stil debugging my toolchain. I write your a mail direct.
-
Thanks for these details...I just break my toolchain , so remake all. My firmware is now wierd : it's booting and after few seconds start blinking. It seeems that you have a hardware serial to see kernel message. If so you could maybe help me debugging it ?
For your issue, that is my fault : patch is done on S89..all scripts before (S21 for example) is not updatable.
Further more jffs2 is done on S23udc so nothing could be read/write before that.
-
Let me know if OK or Failed !
-
Yes Roberto, I could add it...as it seems to work even with usb ethernet adapter.
A good exercice should be try it with a patch.zip
You could for example add the line to /etc/init.d/S40network
-
An alpha version is available at http://firmware.hackhamradio.com/alpha/
As I rebuild completely the toolchain, some regression could appear. This is only for development testing and to help contributors to patch.
It is based on v0.32 original AD firmware.
To apply a patch, make a zip : all files will be extracted at / of pluto. Patch is done at every reboot. (see zip attached for example)
The easiest method to apply patch is by using web interface.
Thanks for feedbacks.
