The Sg LAB transverter is installed very close to the Kenwood TS 790E. However, the connection to the helix antenna takes place with 30 meters of RG 213 cable. It is essential to adapt the power output of the transverter to the RG 213 cable, otherwise the ros is very high. I solved the problem by inserting a stub at the output of the transverter to adapt the impedance to 50 ohms. Certainly 30 meters of RG 213 introduce a loss of 13.41 dB, but the output power of the transverter is 2 watts. The output power of the 30 meters of RG 213 cable is 91 mW. This power enters correctly to the power amplifier connected to the helix antenna. 73!

What kind of helix antenna do you have ? A RHCP long one with gain or a LHCP short one as feeder ? With a feeder and dish 10/20 Watts are too strong. Look also here:

Hello. I decided install the new transverter 430/2400 MHz. in the room inside the house, because the previous transverter, installed near the antenna, is in qrt definitive due to time. However, the 30 meter long RG 213 used for the connection, generates an attenuation of 13.41 dB at 2,4 GHz. The output power of the transverter is 2 Watts, so the power available at the end of the RG 213 is 91.2 mW. I would install a power amplifier near the antenna with a maximum input of 100 mW and get about 10/20 Watts out in the helix antenna for 2,4 GHz. Thank you for any suggestions.

I started building a helix for transmit to qo100. But I have doubts! The dish measures 0.90 meters and calculating the yield at 60% results that the gain at 2.4 GHz is 24.86 dB. Then I calculated the gain of the 8 turns = 10 dB. The total gain is therefore 24.86 + 10 = 34.86 dB ? I am also uncertain about the position of the helix, because the focus of the parabola is in only one point and the length of the coils is 229 millimeters. In which correct position should I install the helix ? That is, the focus of the dish must coincide with the connector ? Thanks for answers. Claudio IK3XKQ

Yes, few days ago manually I changed the position of the lnb installed on the satellite dish. Today I changed the polarization by means of the supply voltage: narrowband at 12 volts, wideband at 15 volts. Thanks

Hello. I am pleased announce that the problem has been solved. I changed the polarization of the LNB by changing the supply voltage.
-
Hello. I send the RTLSDR scanner. With my system the signals in wideband are lower than those in the narrowband.
-
Hola, yo tengo la versione 2.1.0 Si quieres te la envio por email. 73

Yes, I did numerous tests for the skew of the lnb until I found the best location. I changed the horizontal and vertical polarization. The length of the coaxial cable is 30 meters, the total attenuation is 5 dB. The signal received in narrow band is S 9 + 10/20. The antenna is definitely pointed correctly with satellite TV signal meter.

Excuse me, this is my plant: offset dish 80 centimeters. Dual twin LNB with quartz, gain 60 dB, noise figure 0.3 dB. Coaxial cable for tv, inserter for the supply voltage of the lnb, rtl sdr 2838, pc. In the picture the level of signals in narrow band
-
Surprise! The sdr receiver is not RTL 2832 OEM, actually what I'm using is RTL 2838 UHIDIR. DB8TF, please what is your sdr? Thank you
-
Probably the signal at the input of the sdr usb receiver is not sufficient for the datv. Have you measured the signal strength at 741.500 MHz? -
I think the problem can be solved by replacing the sdr receiver. I would to know: what brand and model of usb sdr receiver are you using? Thank you
-
yes, the maximum level is with horizontal polarization. By changing the vertical polarization the level decreases a lot. Now the cw beacon in the narrow band is like in photo S 9 + 10
-
Thanks for the advice, I have already tried with horizontal and also vertical polarization. In the narrow band with gain 0.0 dB the beacon signal is S 8. With automatic gain the signal is S 9 + 35
-
Hello. At 739,500 MHz. can see the signals of the narrow band. At 741,500 MHz. (where there is datv beacon) there is nothing.
-
there is just something that doesn't work well in my system. Patience and goodbye to datv
