Hi All,
What started as an effort to learn more about the Nim module (On the BATC Minitiouner V2) and how it works sent me down a rabbit hole and I ended up converting a big chunk of Longmynd to windows. This is the end result, its still buggy and missing some features. But its something to play with and all the sourcecode is on github. Get all the info and download on my site: https://www.zr6tg.co.za/open-tuner/
Only tested with the Batc Minitiouner V2... but minimal testing, seriously, this project only came together the last week or two :p
Have a good weekend,

Hi All,
I'm going to be digging into HSmodem code in the next few weeks to make some changes and fix a few issues. I'd be keen to hear what feature requests or bugs there might be so that I can look at it while trying a few things. Or if there are any tutorials needed to help with using it. I think it has lots of potential on the QO-100 narrowband, but just needs some applications, improvements
Some info:
Sending Weather Station Data via External Data Port
Any feedback, info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
I'm doing some work on the Longmynd and Winterhill Clients in the coming two weeks. While I'm at it I can sort out any feature requests still outstanding. Please post your features requests/bugs in this thread:
Thanks for everyone who has given feedback!

Hi Erik,
I'll try that out on my side and see if I can reproduce it.

Please check and modify it to make it work.
Nice work on your website. Tnx for providing a installable version without the need to insert the code.

Apologies, link has been fixed.
Please let me know of any success, or failures

Hi All,
I've been playing with the High Speed Modem from Amsat-DL as used for the Multimedia Beacon. One of the features is the external data interface and the example in the documentation is to send weather station data via QO-100. I've played with the concept to get it up and running as an experiment. I have documented it all here:
https://www.zr6tg.co.za/2022/1…odem-and-weather-station/
Hopefully its interesting for others to do similar experiments

Hi All,
I've been playing a bit with the high speed modem and the multimedia beacon. I love it! Lots of potential for cool experiments on the satellite. I had the same problem with disconnects and recv errors and I've been hacking at the code to try a few fixes.
I've increased the receive buffer and I have also changed some logic on how it closed the websocket connections (file descriptor) which causes it to crash. Not sure if the fix is the right way, but its been running happily on my side now for a while.
I've got a compiled windows version if others with the same issue would like to try available here.

I've been experimenting with creating an offline version of the batc wideband monitor, mostly for when the internet is down or for use in a portable station. I've documented the install instructions and added a modified webinterface and a modified version of Rob's quicktune where you can link to the local fft data instead of the online data.

Hi All,
Similar to the longmynd client, I now have a Winterhill client available for testing. It does however require a few changes to the original winterhill software so if you are trying it out then I suggest you use a seperate sd card for testing purposes so that you can revert should something go wrong.

A new version of the longmynd client has been released. This is a big update with improvements to the spectrum, new modes for control of longmynd and the tuner. You will need to update your longmynd installation to take advantage of the new version.
Full documentation and download available at https://www.zr6tg.co.za/longmynd-client/
Thanks to Martin (G4FKK), Benno (PA3FBX) and Henry (ZS6MC) for spending a lot of time on testing and providing feedback.
Thanks to Phil Crump (M0DNY) for the modifications done.
Any feedback and feature requests welcome

Hi All,
I've been working on a windows client for Longmynd. I wanted to keep my minitiouner in the shack, but use the client elsewhere. This connects to a modified version of longmynd and it allows you to control and show the stream if its locked onto a transmission. This is designed specifically for use with OA-100, but should in theory work with anything longmynd can decode.

Maybe its useful for others. I'm also working on an android version of the client
