Winlog32 from Colin, G0CUZ, I've a lot of QSO in this log. Sometimes I meet someone on QO-100 I've met a log time ago on KW, 2m, AO-13 ...

Today I had QSO with Zoli, HA3KZ, a bit surprised
.

No one heard from Hungary so far. Do they have an allocation? YO, LZ, OM, OK, S5 are QRV.
-
Right. The AB003 has the same MMICs inside but a much bigger case and heatsink. It's a good idea to switch it into standby during receiving.
-
Yes Thomas, but the 4W version needs one!

During QSO's I observe my signal on the Goonhilly WebSDR. If I send a long duration CW-signal it drops down after a short while. I think because of overheating. After a break the signal is OK again. In SSB I have no problems with this booster. But I think for digital modes this booster is not suitable with small dishes.

Thomas, I observed the same with the "4Watt" version I borrowed. Even during SSB. After mounting it on a big heatsink I had no problems.
Since end of July I'm using the SG-Labs transverter, that is working very well.

For every lens you need to adjust the focal point, because the phase centers are not the same.
I agree - As I observed with my dish: Venton Rocket Lens LNB seen as in picture: MER 5.2dB D2 (not in focus !) Usually you get good results with this lens. But not at that position I've put in this VENTON LNB.

...thrown away after removing the lens.
Did the same but with a MAXIMUM XO-R2 LNB. Bought is only for the lens (~6€).

Sounded like an digital and unstable signal. Strong and wide band. S/N of the CW beacon was degraded by more than 10dB! I can confirm what G8AWB heard.

Today I and many others observed heavy QRM on the satellite not caused by a 2m transponder. Attached you'll find some screenshots from my receiver and Goonhilly.

Root cause unknown. Sun? DATV? QO-100 problem on NB transponder? I don't know.

Mike, if your 2.4m dish gives you an MES of 10dB I can be happy with 8.8dB@ my 1.2m dish. It's the same as the Goonhilly station uses for QO-100 monitoring.

Interesting Mike. I'm using Leo's GPSDO because I'm on the NB transponder in SSB as well. The LNB was wobbling terribly.
After realigning my dish the MER is at the same level as it was at first install without having the LNB modified.
I'm using the recommended setting from Leo Bodnar for 27 MHz & 10 MHz. If you have better recomodations to set up my GPSDO please let me know.
BTW: is a MER of 10dB the maximum possible value? I think there is a limit.

After realigning elevation, I got my lost signal back.
BTW Mike (G0MJW) what is you dish size and LNB type?
-
Did this Sunday morning in a similar way: Laptop with ultravnc. Or remote desktop will do the same but with sound.
Hope that I found my lost 0.8dB...

Here is a link with some information about those WIFI amps. It's in Russian. So google translate is probably necessary.

My Windows 10 PCs got an update to 1903. After rebooting I started SDR-Console with no success.
Reason: The Update replaced the RTL drivers. Solution: running the ZADIG tool again.
I'm using an old Prolific 2303 USB to RS232 converter for my FT-100 CAT Interface.
You have to use an old driver version not the actual to get the converter running.
This was replaced as well.
(my driver package has this file name: PL2303_Prolific_GPS_1013_20090319.exe)

Yes I know. But unfortunately not in receive only mode by using a RTL stick. When using a transceiver (FT-100 in my case) SDR console mutes audio to zero. But not to a certain volume. So I prefer my hardware solution. Like in AO10/13 times.
