The RX frequency is a bit too high in USB.

You don't need a full duplex radio. I work with my old Kenwood TS-711 + 811 duo in full duplex. If you add a SDR dongle to your simplex radio you are also duplex. WebSDR is ok, if you have a fast VDSL line and router. I think the reason of not working full duplex is the echo. I work since more than 30 years with satellites now, for me is my echo normal "business".

Our colleagues, who are always welcome, shoot themselves in the foot if they disregard our rules (duplex operation). Why? Example: Today a station called me with a completely incomprehensible modulation. This is typical for simplex operation, because the OM did not hear back its modulation and a QSO was not possible. These are then the OM's who, completely frustrated, want to sell their QO-100 equipment again.

I think Johan was misunderstood because he did not tell us his whole station with SDR stick. Full duplex operation is an important rule for satellite operation and "Simplex" is a red cloth in this context. But I think also as Martin, that a new user think "Ah fine, it is a complete ground station and I can plug in the antenna and talk over QO-100". You know the result...

How was it done?
I split the RX signal coming from the LNB to a SDR stick (the splitter has a DC by pass on one port so that LNB works OK)
Using SDR consoles V3 get radio and stick nicely synchronised.
So you are DUPLEX

Hallo Frank
Ausschliessen würde ich erst mal gar nichts. Navigiere mal durchs Lexikon, da findest Du sicher nützliche Hinweise. Viel Erfolg.

Anyway if the Opticum is no better I may as well keep this Daxis.
I would think so too. If you use SDR Console from Simon Brown, G4ELI, you are "fine in business".

I ordered from Amazon the OPTICUM LSP-04H. LNV
but for some reason this morning I received a DAXIS AS0420 LNB
I just tested the Daxis and it drifts about 8KHz! I left it running for a few hours.
There is no mention on the spec if its a DRO or PLL type, anyway its as bad as the old DRO LNBs which I already have.
I will contact the Amazon seller to see why he sent a different LNB model
If I manage to get hold of a OPTICUM how much drift should I expect?
ThanksI ordered also from Amazon and became an other Opticum model, but the LSP-04H was OK. I think you received a "compatible" model with PLL. DRO type models are not on the market, except on flea markets, its an old technology.
8kHz drift is normal after switch on. Does your DAXIS wobble ? That's much more important than drifting. Wobbling without a modification makes the LNB unusable.

You don't need to modify the Edup AB-003 WiFi booster for permanent TX mode nor any contacts. If you cool it with an external fan, hooked up on the housing, it will work flawlessly. At the other side of the housing I've mounted an cooling rib for transistors additionally.

Anyway in a few days I should have a shiny new OPTICUM LSP-04H.
This LNB is also drifting, but it does not wobble. After about 45 minutes warming up it drifts minimal up and down. I use it with an old analogue rig, look at my QRZ page. Or you use it with your PC and SDR Console.
