Correct. "LNB LO" is corrected but demodulated audio does not follow.

1. Do you use a PLL LNB?
2. Do your SDR sticks both have 0.5ppm TCXO or better?
3. Do you have run GQRX and SatControl 10-15min for warming up?
4. Is "Drift correction" button switched on?
5. Do you see a low drifting value in field "RX ERR"?
Then all should be ok. The displayed RX frequency will be fixed on 10.489.548.500 but there should be no more significant drift in demodulated audio.
1. Unmodified LNB GM-201
2. Yes NEWGEN.RTL2832SDR, TCXO 0,5ppm
3. Yes warm up for 1 hour and more
4. Yes "Drift correction" switched on
5. Yes i see drifting in "RX ERR"
But there is a significant drift in demodulated audio in value of drift.
This is my problem.

You don't have to adjust a signal all the time manually.
The LNB LO frequency of GQRX will be corrected automatically by the drift correction function of "SAT Controller SDR Nano" software. And thats all we need. Then the system is stable and there is no more (significant) drift in the demodulated audio.
The displayed RX frequency will not change. But the "real" RX frequency (IF of SDR stick) changes automatically depending on changing LNB LO frequency.
Only during warm up time of the SDR sticks there will be a little drift. But after that time (5-10min) your RX signal will be stable.
Hello Frank,
Again i will try to explain my problem with SAT-Controller V0.2.
SAT-Controller is locked to Master beacon.
CW beacon signal is on the marked position "CW" in GQRX.
SAT-Controller corrects the"LNB LO" according the drift of the LNB.
So far everything is fine.
But now when LNB drifts also the signal from "CW beacon" drifts also from marked position "CW".
This means the "LNB LO" is corrected but the tuned frequency for the signal "CW beacon (10.489.548.500 Hz)" does not follow or is not corrected.
What can be the problem and how to fix it?

Thats ok. Only the LNB LO frequency will be corrected. The tuned RX frequency will not be changed.
Thank you for explanation.
All the time i was thinking that there is a closed loop between master beacon and the lower beacon to compensate the drift.
So i have to adjust a signal all the time manualy.
This was not so clear for me.

Hello Frank,
thank you very very much for all time and work you spend on this project.
When i saw V0.2 i download immediately.
But "Drift-Control" in my case does not work properly.
The software corrects the "LNB LO" by the value of drift but the tuned RX-frequency does not follow.
This means as example if you tune to the lower beacon and the LNB drifts then the RX-frequency will not be corrected.
May be i am thinking wrong but for this "Drift-Control" was build in or not?
HA8NJ This function works on your Pi?

Hello everybody,
SAT Controller SDR 0.1 was working perfect for a couple of weeks.
But now since 3 days the RX ERR jumps and jumps.
I made absolutly nothing on my system so I have no idea what happens.
Does someone know what the problem can be?
Are there any modifications be done on the master beacon?

Hallo SWL-Oliver,
Ich verstehe Deine Frage nicht so ganz.
Was hat FT-817 oder TS 790 mit dem Ganzen zu tun?
RX wird doch über 2 RTL-Sticks gelöst.

Hey all,
I mounted my RX-TX (Diavolo Twin LNB and POTY) combination in my 80cm offset dish today.
Unfortunately mechanical wise I can not push the 10GHz feedhorn more further to the back due to the LNB mount.
Is anybody having the same issue and how did you overcome that signal loss?
- Different LNB mount?
Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Hi Stef,
Have a look in the install manual of the Poty.
Not the feed from the LNB has to be placed in the focus of the dish.
The Poty itself has to be placed in the focus.
I hope this will help you.

Hi Frank and all others.
So SAT-Controller SDR 0.1 is a perfect solution for all who want to use an
unmodified LNB.
Thank you Frank.
But one very important point sholud be added in a manual.
So, it is absolutly neccesary to lock on Master by right click in Sat Controller
and then "Lock". Tune to Master-Beacon and "ok".
I spend couple of hours to start "Drift correction" without locking on Master-Beacon.
I got this information from DH0SK and now.. It works perfect.
Frank, Thanks again and i hope we all will get SDR 0.2. -)
