how much TX power is needed with a 88cm offset dish?

Hello all,

I'm building a station for QO-100.

RX side is working fine with a 88cm offset dish.

As TX antenna I will use a helix.

How much power should I use as a minimum for SSB and what is the max power I can use to be still under the level of the beacons?

Hello Nicolas, I assume you meatn you are using a helix feed in the 88cm dish. The minimum uplink power you will need for SSB will be about 500mW and the maximum uplink power will be about 3W.

What kind of helix will you use ? A helix feed must be LHCP, for a RHCP helix antenna you need more power.

The antenna I'll be using is the Ice Cone Feed.
