I'm just trying to use an 820T2 Usb dongle SDR.

Running dvb-s_gui it opens the dongle but I'm not receiving anything, has someone used this dongle?

Today i tried to decode DATV with version 2.0.14.

First I tuned to the beacon, and played around with the "Carrier Recovery" until i got a proper IQ plot, sync_confidence raised to 32 and the buffers raised to 8192. At the moment, the buffer reaches 8192, the program stopped and closed.

Then I tried some other signals. Tuning and carrier recovery went well so far, IQ plot looks fine, sync_confidence raised to 32 and stayed stable, but the buffer stayed at 0.

No decoding was possible...

Any ideas?

Edit: In the meantime I sucessfully decoded the beacon (just a wrong streaming parameter in VLC). But the second problem stays... Decoding of the other signals works too. VLC stream must be restarted, then decode begins...

hello IZ4RYB go to page 23 that you see I have been using it for 2 months and I do not find it difficult to receive today with version 2.0.14 I have no problems receiving SR 66 fec 5/6 see # 506 excellent signal

many thanks for your answer. I do not think we have the same dongle. If you look to the first attached image my dongle
is not exactly as yours. By the way to give some other details, the dongle works perfectly with SDR Console so I think the
windows driver it is correctly installed and the dongle it is not broken.

When I run dvb-s_console I can open the device but the waterfall it is grey as in the attached pictures.

did you feed your lnb via a t-bias!!! (12v for nb and 18v for wb)

2) is the frequency the wright one (unmodifyed lnb= +/-740Mhz)...seems you dont have a signal from your lnb

i have use several sticks and al of them works fine...

I have several R820T, R820T2 and E4000 sticks here and not all of them are working well with the DVBS2 GUI (only a Terrarec with R820T and an old Noname with E4000).

For me it seems, that the preamp control differs a bit and so the amplification slider makes strange things sometimes (e.g. amplification jumps down when moving the slider to the right, or nothing happens for a while when moving the slider, then amplification jumps to a very high value).

Maybe it is worth to try another stick, maybe wit R820T or E4000 tuner...

If i look to the position of your slider then you are around the Rx frequency of 1.300Ghz???

The position for the wb beacon is around the 8.5 mark and the freq of 742.Mhz for a "normal" lnb (lo=9.750Ghz)

Wath is the lo of your lnb?

pls take a complete picture of your screen so i can see the other settings....

I'm currently just testing the dongle.

The receiving frequency is 1301,250 MHZ because I've another pc with Pluto and F5OEO transmitting using OBS on that frequency.

I've the pluto with original tx antenna and the dongle with a small antenna, so I'm doing local tests before going to satellite.

I've also the minitioune with another small antenna receiving perfectly what I'm transmitting with Pluto ad 1301,250GHZ.

I've tried to move the frequency cursor from 144MHz to 1400 Mhz, but the waterfall always grey, so I think the
dongle does not receive any signal.

Using the dongle with SDR angel I can receive any kind of FM SSB CW, so the hardware seem good.

I've moved the slider as you suggested and now I see the water fall correctly….

I've not though to do that because with pluto rx it worked without mowing them.

The FFT Intensity slider is for adjusting the waterfall brightness to your preferred colors.

The BB Gain slider sets the real gain of the RX and needs to be set not to high to get good reception.

Just try and you will find the optimum setting.

Hello everybody,

My NB transponder system runs well on 85cm dish with Poty an unmodyfied GM-201 LNB with SDR-console running on a INTEL-NUC with NOOELEC Nano 3 SDR.

Now i want to try WB transponder with DVB-S GUI but i have problems to understand the software.

Does anybody know about a manual or something like this for DVB-S GUI?
