it's win7 HOME edition 64bit 8gb ram...
i have windows 10 16gb ram.
let's see if SWL - markro92 has some specs or minimum requirements...
The latest version of the program works on my PC Win 7. I see the beacon of QO-100, the constellation mentions to form but does not go further.
i2NDT: could you try running CPU-Z? need your CPU model.
https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.87-en.zip
- CPU should support SSE4.2
- 64 bit CPU
- Multiple cores are a good idea (minimum quadcore), otherwise it will only work with very low sample- and symbolrates.
great stuff. is running now even on older cpus. many thanks. if possible it would be a great help to allow numeric entry of the frequency slider as well the Symbol rate. With double click Event it didn't work therefor it would be great to know such.
real cool Software, !
here the CPU-Z screen shot:

Small update.
The test I had done has no value because I discovered that the dish has moved due to the strong wind.
The MiniTiouner continues to operate (not as before) but the 7-8 dB I lost on transponders are felt.
after several attemps to make it work on my PC...I decided to give up with this software.
it's a pity as it looked really interesting!
Claudio
hello claudio, could you try it on another pc?
I have here a desktop and two laptops all with windows 10, and it works on all 3 pc,s
Strange pc you have,...hi
And the software is still in progress i believe, but is is fasinating how beautifull it works, all without hardware( exept lnb and rtl stick) he also works with hackrf.
He works not with limesdr-mini,i dont no why.
Markro92 did a fine job to make this.
Ronald PE1PZW
hello Beppe, here is the screenshot from the beacon,it is not possible to make it with the rtl dongle, because the BW is too big! (SR=2000)
i did it with the hackrf and thats works fine.
first what you do is ,when you see the cicle in the IQ-plot ,then you must in carrier Recovery in" FINE" and then set on enable then you see 4 plots.
see screenshot
I3LPO: Try Müller & Muller algorithm (M&M TED) instead of gardner, if symbolrate and samplerate are close together. should help! (gain settings are a bit more important in that mode.)
Also, you didn't set the correct symbolrate in the "Timing Recovery" tab.
You also need to enable Carrier recovery after having Timing Lock. That means, that the symbolrate display at the bottom of the window should stay close to the symbolrate you set. The higher Timing Loop damping and gain are, the faster you'll get a timing lock, but that can also increase inter-symbol interference.
And make sure that the transponder is in the middle, every little bit counts at this bandwidth with the RTLSDR.
@Ron DATV: i really should get a LimeSDR
SWL - markro92 👍🤣🤣
Ok, i just released a new version where the LDPC decoder should be more robust for low SNR signals. Also cleaned up the UI a bit.
The next version (2.0.3) will probably be a usability update (changeable udp port, config file for saving last used freq / gain settings).
After that (2.0.4), probably improvements to the demodulator (frame sync detection, carrier recovery, and LimeSDR support. Just ordered one :D)
software works fine, also by low SR example see picture.
Hi
I have just tried the latest version of your software and my RTL-SDR but sadly the software just refuses to start or load I have posted a picture of the error message and the CPUID picture in case my PC is not able to run the software. I can receive the beacon and other signals very well using 1Mtr dish and Octagon LNB with the Minitioune. I think maybe my machine is too old and no dedicated graphics card as it is built on the CPU or problem with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I will keep trying with each new release in case I find a version that will load and run.
