It's not working - not wishing to be too critical but the gui interface is confusing and the fonts do not fit in the boxes. The DPI scaling is all messed up. Quite a bit of work needs to be done on the interface. I have not managed to decode anything yet. 8PSK turns out not to be supported in this version. I thought it was?

I'm perhaps the only one who was decoded with 8PSK with this software (and it's no mystery why
).
I've played with it some time and it works. I've used cheapest rtl-sdr.
The problems are:
1. With 2.4M sdr sample rate, only 1M or narrower signals are possible to decode.
2. Locking is slow. We are used to MiniTiouners, and not patient.
3. It needs much stronger signal.I've done some tests today and locking 8PSK needed D3 signal on MiniTiouner, and after lock it could go down to D1.
It was 333K FEC 3/4 mer 12db+ signal
It does not decode 16APSK, but I think technically it is possible, as two circles in constellation were visible.

I have not succeeded in getting version 10 or 12 to decode the beacon, just presumed my 90cm dish was too small. With 2.4M sdr sample rate 333k/s QPSK 2/3 is fairly easy to decode on version 10, but never got a decode on version 12

8Psk decode is no problem here. Version 12 in use
2MS beacon is also decoded here with standard rtl_sdr stick set to 2,4MHz bw..
Signals with 5db on the goonhilly can be received good here.
Locking to 125ks is hard and takes a long time but
250ks and up is locking ≤10sec here (if the signal is clean!)

Please post here a screenshot receiving beacon.

No problems to decode with a rtl stick here!!!
Down to 250Sr no probs
1Mtr dish Snr 8.6Db
Version 2.0.10 works here mutch bether than 2.0.12

(Michael) I don't understand your statement the program DVBS-2 GUI Version 2.0.10 doesn't work and I received you SYM_RATE 66 FEC 5/6 SHORT I don't know your problem !!!!

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy. My problem Tony is very simple. It doesn't work. It might work for you but it doesn't work for me.
Now if we knew why that is the case we might be onto how to solve it.
For the record the latest version doesn't work for me either. Looking at your screenshots the settings are the same so I think it has to do with CPU or OS.
The other problem is the application doesn't seem to have the correct high DPI compiler settings enabled so it's quite hard to see what some settings are.

G0MJW: 8PSK modcodes are not supported in version 2.0.10. They were first introduced in version 2.0.12
But you are right about the UI Design. Many Laptops have 1366x768 as a resolution, but the window is about 947 pixels high. Never thought about high DPI displays. I'll also address this problem soon.
I'll release a new version (2.0.13) today with a few fixes. In summary these are: 8PSK short frame support, GUI cleanups (and new tooltips), and support for offset tuning by clicking the right mouse button. There is also an overlay showing transponder bandwidth requested by DB8TF.
There is also a 100% performance update for FIR filtering (atleast on my CPU). These two changes will be useful for future extensions like multi transponder decoding.

Hi Marko
Thanks. I have two laptops with 4k screens - they are getting much more common. I found 2.12 shortly after posting earlier. I am having trouble getting anything to lock and I don't know why. The signals are strong enough on my large dish. It's a puzzle.
What am I doing wrong?

Mike? do you have teamviewer? i want to try something out. Can you send me an e-mail with ID and password, i'll take a look. Mail address is inside the Release Notes. Or better: using the chat of the spectrum monitor. https://eshail.batc.org.uk/wb/
