Yes a MiniTiouner would be better suited to low symbol rates.

A great advantage of the MiniTiouner is that with the new Serit NIM FTS 4335 it covers 143.75 - 2450 MHz.

I have the feeling that commercial sat RXs scan the band just jumping from one channel to the following one (according to the standard channelization scheme) and thus, if the signal you want to receive isn't in the meedle of a standard channel, the RX will not "see" it.

I am going to try to verify it in the near future...

The problem is that normal DVB-S2 Satboxes can´t handle the low symbol rates. The best of the shelve solution at the moment is the Mini-Tiouner-Express from DATV. It is ready to use with the software from Jean-Pierre F6DZP.

I got one piece of minitiouner-express from datv-express.com this morning. I am testing it now. It looks very good. It has a large frequency range too.

They probably will need professional fulfillment services... this unit is extremely popular and poor Charles is spending all his time sending out packages...

IK0YYY, on a Wathsapp chat, reported that I was able to decode down to 250KS/s.

and tuning is also a little tricking...
