OK here it is the TFF1017 PLL in the LNB.
If the weather is good enough tomorrow i will try an unmodified GM201 and report the differences to the octagon OTSLO

The PLL loop-filter components are external to the T105/1017 chip. May be the loop-filter could be improved. But changing components will be a major challenge due to the small sizes.

Will a change from Xtal to a TCXO stop that "wobbling"?
.. don't think so

Just removed the GM201 and reinstalled the Octagon, now the "wobbling" is gone
It would be interesting what PLL IC is used in a LNB WITHOUT opening it.
So you can check (without buy!) LNBs at your electronic Dealers store
if they are with RDA356x (27MHz xtals) or not.
Could be done "Stealth" with a small battery and a simple Receiver scanning 25&27MHz.
If Nothing found on 25 or 27MHz > DRO
If 25MHz: TTF101x or RT320M..
IF 27MHz: RDA356x
Just a thought…

Maybe we can find some more LNBs with RDA 27MHz PLLs
Works
Octagon with RDA and 27MHz gives a clear and strong signal on 27MHz receiver.
Very interesting ! I'm looking also out for a new frequency stable LNB. But the Octagon OTSLO is out of order, its an old (but good) model. Please keep us informed, also for other brands. Conrad Electronic has a few models I selected:

or conrad.ch
Due to my informations, new Octagon OTSLO will on the marked end of this months.
Hi,
i'm a beginner regarding Sat RX/TX with EsHail.
If someone interest:
I got a GM 201S+ and the internal in my lnb is exact: 6.5. Diesl Universal Single
(Source: http://www.pabr.org/radio/lnbl…n.html#Universal%20Single )
Could i modify this with a txco to use this type to receive the small band transponder for ssb whitout a ? If yes, which txco is recommendable and what is the RX QRG with rtl-Stick and SDR#.
I know its not the best, but i think it's ok for a first try, or isn`t it?
Thank you for a short info an any help, like in german, too.
there are some things you have to select first.
1. if you only want more stability without changing the qrg range there are two options. a. TCXO same qrg from conner winfield. D75F series. must be an analog tcxo. b: gpsdo e.g. Leo Bodnar same qrg.
with the gpsdo solution you are more flexible and can also change the qrg e.g. for if in 70cm band. Hope this helps you.. if further questions just ask..
3 Options > SW Drift Correction
Today i went to 2 local electronics stores and measured some LNBs <30€.
Found 2 LNBS (Schwaiger) with 25MHz PLL
The third (Hama) seems to be a DRO type. (nothing on 25 or 27MHz found)
QuoteDJ7WL : Due to my informations, new Octagon OTSLO will on the marked end of this months.
My Satshop call me with the message the Octagon OTSLO Twin with PLL will be available not before end of april.
But he send me a link with a new Octagon PLL type as well as a 25MHz xtal.
Today i was in Rosmalen - Netherlands, on a hamfest; there was a French guy who was selling the Avengers -PLL lnb's for 7€ which he had plenty off ,so i bought some which are identical to the single octagons with 27Mc, i found also the SR-320 but need to check the inside later, price was the same.
Yesterday eve we did some measurements on the gpsdo's, Leo Bodnar dual output and G3RUH model, output wasn't clean enough, but with extra 10MHz LPF it was ok.So i need to make an LPF for 25 and 27 for the other output also.

Hi,
some experimental notes on modification. I have successfully modified two GM-201's so far, both used the NXP1017 IF processor and LS7005 intelligent regulator:

Hi Michael,
thanks for the very good explaination. I have still twenty of the GM201 and will start to modify with your idea.
The only open question ist the bias/triplex er for single cable solution. Do you have a schematic of that part?
Thanks in advance
Kai

Hi Michael, what does that mean:
BTW, yesterday i also tried to mod a GM201 for 1 cable ref Input.
Didn't work because i didn't mod the VIN stripline and add the 11Ohm resistors Today i will try again. I saw your PDF later
