Hallo ...
i thought my LNB is broken because of the SUN in FOCUS ...but now I understand...
NOISE changed at around 11:43 LOCAL TIME. (see picture)
Checked the system but found no error... !

Sorry for the confusion.. we planned this for quite some time and got this now arranged with the satellite operator. The motivation for this is same SNR for all >60cm as noise and signal will go down in parallel. Indeed, 60cm dishes should still see some 4dB transponder noise remaining.
Hello,
just came home from work and saw the "reduced noisefloor" 1st I thought that my antenna has moved in the wind.....
Like in the AMSAT anouncement the S/N of my own signal via the tranponder is the same as before.
The lower beacon seems to have a little bit improved in S/N - is this right ?
With my 85cm offset dish still almost about 8dB transponder noise.

The mailbox message transmitted by the beacon was changed this week (yesterday, I think):
L HI de Qatar-OSCAR 100 (DL50AMSAT)
Transponder is open for general use since 2019-02-14.
Enjoy the Narrow Band (NB) and Wide Band (WB transponders.
Follow the guidelines and keep transmiter power below beacon.
For more information visit: http://amsat-dl.org/
QO-100 was brought to you by Es'hailSat, QARS and AMSAT-DL.
Good Luck and Good DX via the first geostationary P4-A satellite
Maybe changes like this could be communicated there? Or is it difficult to quickly change the message?
It seems that the signal level compared to the noisefloor of the transponder are weaker than the first days. Have there been made any gain adjustments or similar on the satellite transponder lately?
This morning we adjusted the NB Transponder gain by -4dB. The main affect will be less (waisted) noise in the passband, practically no impact on S/N for the user.
As gain was reduced, Signal and Noise went down both by 4db. But SNR stayed constant for all stations with RX dish of 60cm and more. 40 cm antennas and LNB only might have a harder time now..

LNB: Octagon single, unmodified
Whats that for a strange signal just around the P4A transponder?
Every 10 secs i can hear a burst on AM. On the P4A passband i can't hear it.

The signal is also receiveable on the goonhilly websdr and on the websdr on sicilia.
No local source...
Now it can be heard even in the middle of the P4A TP.
Switch to AM and listen to it. Every ca 10secs a burst appears..
Maybe it was a little bit to much decreasing in TP level lately?
Or is the source on 2,4GHz?
Prior to changing the TP level i didn't recognize that signal.

I can see the signal here in HB9 as well. Actually due to the transponder gain decreased, the system is working better than before (transponder coming out of saturation) so although unpleasant, this kind of interference is not completely unexpected.
So i assume this signal is on the 10GHz side and not via the P4A transponder?
Then the solution would be a even bigger dish (or better aligned) to get the TP stronger?
It's annoying, the TP floor is jumping here every 10secs.

You misunderstood me. Due to the transponder coming out of the saturation and being more linear even for wideband signals we see these things now which we did not before. There is little we can do about except making the transponder less sensitive.
It *could* be any S-band radar system..
Today's (25/03) solar interference with 2 dB of degradation! Day 28 we will have the maximum with 8 dB of degradation! Today only a small part of the sun passed through the main lobe of the antenna.
