After Space X successfully completed the engine test on the Falcon 9 rocket tonight, the launch has now been officially confirmed.
AMSAT-DL President and Es'hail-2 Project Leader Peter Gülzow and Project Manager Achim Vollhardt are already on their way to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will provide us with great and spectacular pictures and information.

Congratulations from Phase 4 Ground! We watched from San Diego and are thrilled to see such a successful launch. We look forward to supporting P4A with open source ground station designs and active participation in the experimenter days.
She is = in GTO. Geostationary Transfer Orbit. Falcon 9 did her job. This is an excellent start. Now we wait for Es'hailsat to confirm Es'hail-2 is in good shape, and transfer her to Geostationary Orbit (GEO) when they are ready.
Just amazing.....
But my pineapple T-shirt and fan heater still didn't make up for not being there.
I hope everyone at the launch site enjoyed it.

these are the Keplerian elements of the second stage of Falcon 9 and of es'hail-2 an hour after launch.
Does anyone know the sequence, the next maneuvers of es'hail-2?

Then the in-orbit testing starts.. and as said before, our transponder will likely be last. I personally do not expect any transponder opening in 2018. Please stay tuned, we will announce news as we have them.
Most important of all: do not transmit unless the transponder has been officially declared open! Doing so will only delay commissioning and the release date for all. Last but not least, any misbehaviour of users will not help our good relationship with Es'hailSat and we all want to keep it good, do we?
Is the beacon frequency of the main payload known?
I think the future DVB-S channels of Es'hail-2 ar not receivable in Central Europe. So it would be easier to search and find Es'hail-2 using the main payload beacon frequency ...
