Friedrichshafen QO-100 OM's meeting?

  • We did a reservation in this nice greek restaurant nere the fair ground. We bring along an small amplifier with a long microphon cable that everybody can follow the meeting and as well the discussions. Also we will bring along a PC-Projector and a screen that we are able to share possible pesentations there

  • @all participants of out great event:

We were nearly up to seventy people that evening and had nearly up to five hours for having dinner together and very good discussions going on at the tables. All enjoyed this evening and the whole group decided to do this again the saturday evening next year on the HamRadio show at the same place.

I ask all of you making photos during this evening to post them here.

Many thanks to all participants.. without you this evening won´t be that event we had together.

Have a save trip from the fair home.. I am glad you were there.. and hoping seeing you ther again next year..

  • Hello Heiner, wonderful but my collegues wants to drive back to the camping place at Tettnang. But i met alot of OMs after the presentation. Thanks for organization. Maybe next year. Attached pictures from my portable station at the camping ground

  • That was an excellent dinner, and it was fantastic to be able to chat with people like Achim DH2VA in a more relaxed manner than was possible at the AMSAT-DL stand.

    I have two observations though:

    1. There were many seats booked but people didn't show up. Would it not make sense to charge a deposit (say €10) to encourage people to follow through with their commitment. Maybe refundable up to 24 hours before the dinner?

    2. The prices on the dinner menu were much higher than shown in the standard menu. I think approximately 20% more. I know that restaurants have a service charge for big groups, but that does seem excessive.

I will be there for next year.

I can confirm that. At least item No 2 from the menu was 25% more of the price at it was on the ordinary menu. :(((

Besides that the food was fine and the talks and the meeting itself were very good!

guys I am aware of this..and we will do improvments for next year.. please keep in mind..I started planning this event just two days before.. there was no chance to discuss about prices.. my position was more or less "take it or leave it". I myself and also responds by mail and on the satelitte shows me that this event was a big success.

Anyway thanks for your feedback.. But this topic is already in my mind for next year..;)

Absolutely no problem. Just wanted you to have that on the list for next year. If it's on there already I am fine.

Besides this minor issue I found the meeting to be very useful and I would appreciate if we manage to have a similar meeting next year. Thank you for organisation.

  • G4KLX Jon... nice idea.. I count on you and you are welcome to be a member of the steering commitee for 2020 meeting. Your job will be to collect the money for the "no show" participants. If you are not willing to do this..please don´t post such ideas.. we need people to take over responsabilities.. Not only telling others good ideas and do nothing...?(

  • HAMRADIO

    Hallo,

thanks to all which were involved in organistion, preparation, presentation and much more details. It was a pleasure to shake hands, and having talks to satellite enhusiasts.

Unfortunately I had another appointment while the dinner took place.
At least, it seems there are many interested Oms and we should think about help them in any way.

    Again, many thanks
